You guys…
Can you believe that fall is around the corner? Like whoa, where does the time go?!
And that means that it’s time to start thinking about the holidays!
First up: Halloween!
Many parents like to make their kids’ Halloween costumes. But for those of us who aren’t particularly skilled at sewing (or just too lazy/busy to make halloween costumes), there’s another way to add some DIY charm to halloween night:
Make the trick-or-treat bags!
Of course you can achieve this a variety of ways, but I’ve collected a selection of six FREE Crochet Halloween Bag Patterns (from some of the best crochet bloggers!) that are perfect for trick-or-treating! I guarantee your kids will be the coolest trick-or-treaters on the block with these bags:
1-) Pumpkin Trick-or-Treat Bag by Sewrella
This too-cute pattern by Ashleigh over at Sewrella is sure to be a classic! Designed specifically as a trick-or-treat bag, you will be able to use this bag over and over again. Ashleigh works this pattern with two strands of yarn to make a trick-or-treat bag that’s tight and sturdy (read: no candy will try to escape!). AND she’s teamed up with lion brand to put together this kit that you can purchase and get all the materials you need with a single click!
2-) Candy Corn Trick-or-Treat Bag by Persia Lou
What better way to get into the halloween candy spirit than trick-or-treating with a candy corn trick-or-treat bag? This crochet pattern designed by Alexis from Persia Lou is absolutely brilliant in it’s simplicity. The handles on it also look super comfortable for carrying around once the bag gets heavy from all the candy in it!
3-) Halloween Pumpkin Trick-or-Treat Bag by Petals to Picots
This gorgeous twist on the classic halloween pumpkin was designed by Kara from Petals to Picots. It has a slightly more sophisticated feel than many of the other patterns on this list so it would be a great pattern to make for yourself to decorate with or for an older child with sophisticated tastes (or anyone else who likes crochet goodies). Personally, I’m planning on making one of these classy pumpkins to use as a centerpiece on my dining room table. But get creative…the sky is the limit!
4-) Halloween Bags by Pattern Paradise
Maria from Pattern Paradise has designed not one, but three amazing crochet halloween bag patterns! The pumpkin pattern is completely free on Maria’s blog, but for only two dollars you can get all three crochet patterns and make unique bags for everyone! Woot!
5-) Frankenstein Trick-or-Treat Bag by Sewrella
Here’s another super cute free crochet pattern by Ashleigh! If pumpkins are too standard for your kid’s liking, this frankenstein bag may help! Really, this bag is just too adorable not to make!
6-) Pumpkin BOO Basket by 5 Little Monsters
If you are the one staying home to give out the candy, then you must make this adorable pumpkin basket designed by Erica at 5 Little Monsters to hold all your candy! Trust me, this basket will make you feel much better that it’s no longer socially acceptable for those of us who have kids of our own to be doing trick-or-treating ourselves ;). No, just me? Anywho…
What are you waiting for, grab some hooks and some yarn and let these amazing crochet halloween bag patterns be your guide!
Happy crocheting!
